AN OUTLET FOR OVERTHINKING, EXISTENTIALISM AND IDENTITY EXPLORATION
Firstly, for anyone kind enough to read this blog, thank you - it means more to me than you know.
Like countless other 20-somethings, I often find myself afflicted by uncertainty, self-doubt and disillusionment. It is easy to establish a pattern of ‘being in your own head' as a consequence. While introspective thought is crucial for self-development and growth, we can inadvertently become consumed without an effective outlet to process or relieve these thoughts.
I started this blog as a personal outlet for my thoughts and observations - essentially a somewhat sanitised open journal. A little too self-indulgent for my liking, the concept quickly evolved into a space for open dialogue and expression – where readers are free and encouraged to do the same. In essence, this blog is little more than a messy collection of ramblings, observations, and thoughts, with the opportunity for anyone to be involved.
I am by no means literarily inclined, so I apologise in advance if, at times, the structure, direction or content leaves something to be desired. Having said that, I aim to share my thoughts authentically, and I hope that you’ll feel comfortable doing the same in the knowledge that this is a receptive space that values self-exploration.
In addition to personal reflections, I will be sharing quotes and extracts from books and other materials that have left a lasting impression on me or have been a catalyst for deeper contemplation, as well as music, films, and books with some accompanying thoughts.
I hope that by creating a platform to explore my cognition and gain insight into the inner workings of the minds of friends, family and other like-minded people, we can foster a deeper understanding of ourselves and the people we care about, and that what we share in this space might offer others the same inspiration that it gave us.
